Set in the spectacular backdrop of the Monchigue Mountains, the Amendoeira Golf Resort is located in Silves, Portugal, a region replete with history. First occupied by the Romans, and later by the Moors, Silves became a thriving town to rival Lisbon as the center of Portuguese culture. Today, reminders of the past include a 15th century cathedral, a castle from the fourth and fifth centuries and the old city wall. For the more modern-inclined crowd, Silves has a thriving restaurant and bar scene.

Golf at Amendoeira

Residents receive membership to seven world-class golf courses. The crown jewel is arguably Nick Faldo's course, a challenging layout with many water features that demand accurate, creative shot making. The O'Connor Jr. course is also a difficult test of golf.

The clubhouse has a pro shop, a greenside bar and café, a spike bar and restaurant and a banquet room. The resort also has a golf academy.

The residential community is the focal point of the development, with the architecture having a strong Moorish influence.

The four and five bedroom villas have private swimming pools, beautifully landscaped gardens and expansive views of the golf course. The three bedroom villas are cut right into a hillside for spectacular vistas. Two and three bedroom luxury apartments with shared pools are also available.
