Golf

The Founders Course and the Iron Forge received Four Stars from Golf Digest.

The Founders Course features a blend of tree-lined fairways, large greens, sculpted bunkers and a 7-acre lake. This layout is for the well-conditioned golfer, as the 5-hole stretch starting at the par-5 14th is the most grueling of the round.

Iron Forge starts near the Michaux State Forest, in the foothills of South Mountain, and makes a single loop, passing past a variety of mountains and open farmland. In contrast to the Founders Course, Iron Forge is nearly treeless, with sculpted, bent-grass fairways that are more open to the forces of nature.

The golf courses are complemented by the Penn National Golf Center; a 40-acre complex featuring an expansive practice green, large natural grass tee areas, practice bunkers, and a lighted driving range with covered all-weather tees. Penn National also hosts the nationally known America's Favorite Golf School, which offers three- and five- day instruction schools from May until October.

Real Estate

Penn National offers homesites in a variety of settings: from secluded woodland sites, to link-side with fairway views, to vistas of the nearby Appalachian Mountains. Starting at $50,000, each location is immediately available for custom-home construction.

Custom homes begin at $130,000 (plus lot). Carriage Homes are crouched along the 9th fairway of the Founders course and feature views of the golf course, lake and mountains.

Carriage Homes, beginning at $185,000, feature either an upstairs or downstairs plan with a deluxe master suite with side-by-side whirlpool bath and shower, full-size, walk-in closets and elevator-shaft access for upstairs units. Two- and three-bedroom models are available (with or without gas fireplace) with two full baths, one- or two-car garage and enclosed terrace. Nearby are the tennis courts, clubhouse, pool, pavilion and recreation areas.

Aronimink, Penn National's villa community, features a choice of two single-level floor plans, with one full bath, and optional living room fireplace. Starting at $129,900, each villa comes with natural gas heat, central air conditioning, and state-of-the-art kitchen appliances.
