Sea Trail covers more than 2,000 acres of winding creeks and wooded lots, and features three championship golf courses. Sunset Beach was named the No. 1 Coastal Destination in the U.S. by Money Magazine.

Golf

There are three championship layouts: the Willam Byrd Course, the Rees Jones Course and the Dan Maples Signature Course. All three received four stars from Golf Digest.

The Byrd Course was built around several man-made lakes, each ranging from 14-20 acres. Every hole of this par-72 signature course requires a distinctly different approach to Byrd's undulating greens. The course incorporates several of Byrd's trademark decorative sand and waste bunkers, combined with a constricting tree line and greenside bunkering system.

The Jones Course was renovated in 1999, bringing a more naturalized look with native grasses and wildflower plantings. A straightforward course with typical Jones bounding along the fairways and around elevated greens, the course is noted for its wide fairways, large mounds, pot and large expanse bunkers. Water comes into play on 11 holes of this par-72. The Jones course is best described as a target course, and Rees Jones has used all available attributes to guard his oversized L-93 bentgrass greens.

Golf Digest named the Maples Course one of the best new resort courses in the nation in 1986. Twisted ancient oaks, tall Carolina pines and tifdwarf greens define each hole on the par-72. Five holes wind along the Calabash Creek. A medium-length, accuracy-demanding course, the Maples is unique in its use of waste bunkers; with the waste bunker on #15 extending the full length of the fairway.

Real Estate

There are separate neighborhoods available for those who prefer to make Sea Trail their permanent home rather than a vacation home. Golf villas used for vacation or second homes have one or two bedrooms and are located near Resort amenities.

Almost all the real estate at Sea Trail is either on, or adjacent to, fairways, and every home has a fairway, water or woodland view. Golf course homesites begin at $49,900 for an interior lot and at $64,900 for a fairway lot.

Royal Poste Road Golf Villas
Two-bedroom, two-bath villas overlooking the 9th fairway of the Dan Maples course. By securing the common doors, two separate villas are created. The main villa features one bedroom with private bath, living room, kitchen and dining area, laundry and a private entrance. The mini-suite features one bedroom with private bath and entrance. Osprey Watch
These luxury residential townhomes are located in a wooded glen along the Calabash River Creek and overlook the 12th & 13th fairways of the golf course. Each townhome features three bedrooms, a breakfast nook, vaulted ceilings, large covered porches, and a two-car garage. From $199,900.

Forest Walk
Each distinct home features a spacious floor plan. Estate design includes innovative privacy walls enclosing a courtyard, master suites, two-car garage, and two- and three-bedroom floor plans. From $183,900 including lot.

Sawmill Townhomes
Secluded townhomes conveniently located near clubhouse, swimming, tennis and other recreational areas of Sea Trail. Homes feature two- to five-bedroom floor plans, vaulted ceilings, a screened porch, private patio, and covered entry. From $150,000.

Miscellaneous

Amenities include two full-service clubhouses, two restaurants, lighted tennis courts, two swim & fitness centers, a swimming pool, sauna, and whirlpool. One can hike or bike along miles of streets and cart paths. Fitness and craft classes, neighborhood golf leagues are also available.
