CRANS MONTANA is one of Switzerland’s big, world-famous ski resorts, occupying the sunniest plateau in the Alps, facing south over the Rhône valley with a spectacular panorama of peaks. It also has some of the finest shopping, wining and dining in the Alps. The resort has the advantage of access to year-round skiing on the Plaine Morte glacier, way up above 3000m. Skiing aside, the place is best known for hosting the European Masters golf tournament every September, second only to the British Open for prestige and top names. Crans’s scenic course – “by far the most spectacular tournament site in the world” according to Greg Norman – was redesigned in 1999 by Seve Ballesteros.

Even for those who do not like to golf or ski, there is plenty to do.  The villages have activities for all ages, and families with children are welcomed. The tourist office publishes a monthly list of activities, including concerts and sporting events. The casino is open 7 days a week. There are hiking, biking and walking trails for people of every ability.

This apartment has been our family’s vacation spot for many years. We typically spend 3 months a year there, ourselves. It is our home away from home. So, it is very clean, well-maintained, and well-appointed with every comfort, decorated in a traditional European style that says "Welcome." It is on the second story of a 4 story building and has three balconies with good views of the Alps and the surroundings.   There are two bedrooms, 3 beds (one queen, two comfortable single Murphys with innerspring mattresses) and one convertible sofa that sleeps two.  There are two bathrooms, an independent kitchen, a foyer and a large living/dining area with a south-facing balcony.
